The Balvenie Double Wood 12 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky (5CL)

Scotland Speyside Dufftown

The Balvenie 12 Year Old DoubleWood is an iconic whisky, first launched in 1993 using a technique developed by Malt Master, David Stewart MBE, in 1982. Still growing strong after over 25 years on the market, The Balvenie 12 Year Old DoubleWood is one of the most delicious Speyside single malts you can find. After 12 years maturing in American oak ex-Bourbon barrels and hogshead, it is finished in ex-Oloroso casks for nine months. The whisky is then transferred to big “tuns” to marry for 3-4 months prior to bottling. The result is a spirit with great balance of rich sherry wood flavours—raisins, almonds—along with spice, caramel and vanilla from the ex-Bourbon casks, with that lovely pear and apple fruit coming through. A favourite.
