2022 Chablis, 1er Cru, Vaillons, Domaine Billaud-Simon (6 x Bottle)

The 2022 Chablis Vaillons 1er Cru has a slightly musky, light apple blossom bouquet cohering nicely in the glass. The palate is quite effervescent with a bit of gas and good acidity but rather one-dimensional on the tropical-tinged finish. This feels as if the warm summer got to it.

Vinous
The 2022 Chablis Vaillons 1er Cru has a more backward, stony…almost chalky bouquet that gradually opens in the glass. The palate is balanced with a slightly honeyed entry, what feels like a later-picked Vaillon that lost some acidity and nerve on the finish. Early-drinking. Tasted blind at the BIVB tasting in Chablis.
