2021 Santenay Rouge Vieilles Vignes, Domaine Borgeot
Tasting note
Deep cherry fruit, rhubarb and smoky notes combine in this medium bodied wine, with juicy acidity and fine tannins.
Our thoughts
Borgeot is run by two brothers, who are fourth generation of vignerons here. They own 20 hectares of vines across four communes and are very respectful of their land, ploughing to remove weeds as opposed to spraying and using only organic fertilisers. Santenay is found at the bottom of the Cote d’Or, and a good spot for value Burgundy for those in the know.
