Tasting note
An incredibly moreish wine, in a traditional savoury, Bordeaux style. With bright red and black fruits and a hint of vanilla, the tannins are fine and approachable. Exceptional value.
Our thoughts
Sub-£10 Bordeaux has not traditionally been a category of wine that has enjoyed the best reputation, but with recent improvements in viticultural rigour, there are some more than serviceable examples when in the right hands. The 35-hectare Le Roc, in the Entre-Deux-Mers, is just such an exponent, the family-owned Vignobles Landié’s state-of-the-art facility yielding a supremely drinkable claret with the classic balance of savoury fruit and acidity.
