2019 Barolo Cerequio, Voerzio Martini (6 x Bottle)

A lot more reserved than Monvigliero at this early stage, Cerequio shows more sweetness of fruit and a tighter core of minerality and tannin. Structured and serious, almost brooding, but clearly with a long life ahead of it. There is lovely depth and texture, even if it is a bit shy, and the finish is impressive. Stick this in the cellar and forget about it, your future self will thank you.

The 2019 Barolo Cerequio is striking. Bright and poised, with terrific depth, the 2019 is a fine example from this site. Sweet dark red fruit, spice, cedar and rose petal abound. This is classic Cerequio. Vibrant salivating acids extend the finish effortlessly.
