Blackberry, cherry, cinnamon, white pepper and dusty violet flowers define the seductive bouquet of the 2018 Rieder Lagrein. It’s soft and elegant, balancing ripe dark fruits with stimulating acids and minerals. There’s a pliancy here that makes this Lagrein so easy to like, while still boasting firm tannins that dwell beneath its cloak of textural depth. Blackberries with purple floral inflections linger on, as savory spices slowly taper off.
