2018 Puligny-Montrachet, 1er Cru Champ Gain, Domaine Faiveley (6 x Bottle)

France Burgundy Cote de Beaune

The 2018 Puligny-Montrachet Les Champgains 1er Cru has a pleasant, slightly minty bouquet that does not quite convey the terroir with the same detail as the 2017. The palate is well balanced with a slightly honeyed opening, certainly one of the richer styles of Puligny and as a consequence, it just misses some tension and mineralité on the finish.

Vinous

The 2018 Puligny-Montrachet Champ-Gain 1er Cru has a very laconic nose that, despite aeration, refuses to give much away. The palate is balanced with orange peel and apricot notes, but it lacks mineralité and terroir expression. For early drinking.
