2018 Chassagne-Montrachet Blanc, 1er Cru Clos St Jean, Domaine Paul Pillot (6 x Bottle)
The 2018 Chassagne-Montrachet Clos St Jean 1er Cru has an attractive bouquet with orange pith, mango and light petrolly scents (similar to those I discerned on the Les Mazures). The palate is well balanced with a sapid opening. Slightly honeyed in texture, this is definitely a spicy Chassagne with ginger and lemongrass lining the persistent finish. This has the upper hand over the Les Mazures.
