2018 Barolo, Azelia
Lovely sweet red fruit on the nose is complemented by beautifully high-toned herbal notes on the palate. Made from a selection of 45-year-old vines across five different Cru, one third hailing from Castiglione Falleto and two thirds coming from Serralunga, and aged entirely in large Slavonian oak, resulting in a very fresh, crisp style of wine intended for early drinking. Drink 2025-2035

Vinous
The 2018 Barolo is a light-bodied, easygoing wine to drink now and over the next few years. Sweet dried cherry, spice, orange peel, tobacco and spice are all laced together. The 2018 is open and ready to drink. I would prefer to drink this over the next handful of years before the fruit fades. The straight Barolo is a blend of seven parcels in Castiglione Falletto and Serralunga d'Alba.
