The 2017 Wild Horseshoe Sauvignon Blanc saw post-fermentation lees contact of 11 months, stirred up once a week. This is a Savvy to appease those who seek a more asparagus/pyrazine-scented wine, with a light smokiness that comes through with time. The palate is well balanced with a saline entry, the asparagus note lingering offstage, but there is adequate freshness and tension on the finish. I appreciate the texture and concentration.
