2017 Vosne-Romanee, Domaine Hudelot Noellat (Bottle)
As I predicted from barrel, the 2017 Vosne-Romanée Village has the edge over its Chambolle counterpart this year, exhibiting a deep bouquet of wild berries, smoked duck, spices and creamy new oak. On the palate, the wine is medium to full-bodied, fleshy and enveloping, with a textural attack and good depth at the core, built around powdery tannins and lively acids.

Robert Parker Wine Advocate
Deeper and more concentrated than its Chambolle counterpart, the 2017 Vosne-Romanée Village offers up notes of wild berries, smoked meats, incense and dark chocolate. On the palate, it’s medium to full-bodied with good depth and amplitude, balanced by bright acids and framed by supple tannins. This is a definite success.

Vinous
The 2017 Vosne-Romanée Village has a backward, rather sultry nose at the moment, featuring black cherries mixed with cassis, and the new oak playing a fine supporting role. The palate is medium-bodied with crisp tannin and more black fruit than red. Full of energy, with just a bit of CO2 toward the finish. Give this a couple of years in bottle once released.

Vinous
The 2017 Vosne-Romanée Village has a pretty, vivacious bouquet of very well-defined red cherry and strawberry fruit. The palate is fresh and vibrant with crisp acidity and a touch of tomato vine toward the finish. Leaner than the 2018 but displays decent length.
