2017 Puligny-Montrachet, 1er Cru Folatieres, Domaine Jean-Louis Chavy (12 x Bottle)
Chavy’s 2017 Puligny-Montrachet Les Folatières 1er Cru is laced with orchard fruit, lemon confit, white flowers and a kiss of new French oak. Racy and inviting, the 2017 is easy to drink young, but also has enough energy to develop nicely in bottle for at least a few years to come. Bright saline and mineral notes give the Folatières lovely vibrancy and delineation throughout. The 2017 is especially fine with a few hours of air.

Vinous
The 2017 Puligny-Montrachet Les Folatières 1er Cru has a slight reduction on the nose that denies it the delineation of its village cru counterpart at the moment. The well-balanced palate is bright and vivid (as I suspect the aromatics will be after 18-24 months in bottle) and displays a crisp line of acidity. There is impressive tension on the finish. Very fine.
