2017 Felton Road Pinot Noir, Bannockburn, Central Otago (6 x Bottle)
Purple coloured with ruby tints, the nose is very intense and expressive, with black cherry and raspberry jam aromas intermingling with savoury and spice nuances. The palate is medium to full bodied with very intense fruit and a creamy texture. It finishes long, with great balancing acidity and really fine tannins.

Delicate red fruit notes—a mix of strawberry, raspberry and cherry—appear on the nose of the 2017 Pinot Noir. They’re joined by hints of tea, dried spices and thyme, giving the wine ample complexity. It’s medium-bodied and supple, with a long, silky finish. The focus at Felton Road has shifted toward more elegance and red fruit, and this is a fine example of that.

Vinous
The 2017 Bannockburn Pinot Noir has a lovely, understated bouquet with blackberry and briary aromas and a subtle earthy/forest floor note loitering in the wings. The palate is well balanced with fine tannin and gentle grip in the mouth, but nothing overly powerful. It is a natural Pinot Noir leaning towards a broodier style, yet clearly very well made and expressive of its terroir. Excellent.
