2016 Mercurey Rouge, Les Vignes de Maillonge, Domaine Michel Juillot (12 x Bottle)
Deep cherry red with a nose showing notes of raspberry, black cherry and spicy overtones from the subtle oak. Medium bodied with a lovely intensity, the palate shows good acid balance and fine moderate tannins. Ready to drink, this will develop more gamey notes over the next 3-4 years.

The 2016 Mercurey Les Vignes de Maillonge is somewhat more gourmand than the domaine’s regular Mercurey Village, offering up aromas of ripe cherries, strawberries and licorice followed by a medium to full-bodied, ample palate. Its fine structuring tannins are concealed in a generous core of fruit.
