The 2015 Avvoltore, Morisfarms’ blend of Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah is stellar today. Brooding and explosive in the glass, the 2015 possesses remarkable intensity in all of its dimensions, with huge fruit and equally imposing tannins. Dark cherry, leather, smoke, tobacco, licorice and grilled herbs shape a virile, imposing Maremma red that is going to need at least a few years to be at its most expressive. Once again, Morisfarms has done a terrific job with their flagship wine.
