2014 St. Supery Elu, Meritage, Napa Valley, California (Bottle)

Rich garnet colour with brick edges. The nose is complex rich and mature, with black plum, espresso, blackberry and notes of anise. The palate has massive density of sweet and jammy fruit, yet the superb, fine tannins maintain its elegance. Beautifully textured, the finish is simply massive on this top class wine.

Robert Parker Wine Advocate

Their 2014 Elu Proprietary Red is a blend of 61% Cabernet Sauvignon, 22% Merlot, 12% Malbec and the rest Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc. This sees 100% French oak for 19 months, of which 46% is new. Loads of crème de cassis, blueberry, honeysuckle, plum and coffee bean notes are present in this lush, opulent, sexy and open-knit wine that is a characteristic of 2014. The acidity is low, the tannin fine-grained and the wine irresistible already. Drink it over the next 15 or so years.
