2014 Reserva Especial Cava Brut, Dominio de la Vega, Utiel-Requena (Bottle)

Deep coloured and rich on the nose with toasty nutty aromas. Quite full bodied yet fine and elegant, with ripe yellow plum, brioche and candied citrus leading to a long, structured finish.

Robert Parker Wine Advocate

The white 2014 Brut Reserva Especial is produced with Macabeo (Viura) and Chardonnay and matured in bottle with lees for two years. It has seven grams of residual sugar. It felt less expressive and riper than the 2013 and less lively in the palate too. In fact, I’d drink this before the 2013. 53,970 bottles produced.

Vinous

Pale yellow-gold. Musky citrus/orchard fruit aromas are joined by suggestions of dusty minerals and white flowers. Supple and broad on the palate, offering pear nectar, orange pith and succulent herb flavors that slowly tighten up on the back half. Finishes on a chewy note, with good persistence and resonating floral and orchard fruit notes. (aged for two years on its lees)
