Powerful, incisive and tannic, yet also medium-bodied in structure, the 2014 is laser-focused and exceptionally beautiful. Precision and finely sculpted, the 2014 is going to need at least a few years to come into its own, but it is incredibly vivid and poised, even at this early stage. Red fruit, wild flowers, orange peel and chalk add brightness throughout.

A real head-turner, the 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon is shaping up to be one of the wines of the vintage. In particular, I admire the wine’s density and power. An additional year of experience for the new winemaking team paid off big time. The 2014 has the freshness and brightness of the vintage, but also has superb depth to fill out the wine’s frame. Beams of intense salinity punctuate the finish.

The 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon is savory, fresh and super-inviting, as so many wines are in this vintage, Bright red cherry, iron, smoke, mint, wild flowers and anise all lift from the glass. Medium in body, taut and wonderfully focused, the 2014 is going to reward readers lucky enough to own it for many, many years. I especially like the pure energy and vibrancy that runs through the 2014.
