2014 Lupi e Sirene Brunello di Montalcino, Podere Le Ripi (6 x Bottle)

Italy Tuscany

Generous nose of red fruits, herbs and dark cherry with spicy undertones. Quite gentle on the palate, with elegance and freshness supporting the full powerful fruit.

Robert Parker Wine Advocate

The 2014 Brunello di Montalcino Lupi e Sirene (with only 6,000 bottles made) has a rich and genuine quality of fruit and a level of inner intensity that is not common to this vintage. The wine undergoes a 25-day fermentation and maceration process in open casks and you taste some of the richness of the grape skins as a result. This helps to add structure, fiber and length to a vintage that ranks low on all those fronts. This Brunello is aged in oval-shaped oak casks for 28 months and then goes into cement for an additional 12 months. This has also contributed to the extra volume and depth you get here. Nice job Podere le Ripi.
