Robert Parker Wine Advocate
The 2013 DNA is a blend of 75% Cabernet Franc, 20% Merlot and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon, the assemblage conducted by upcoming young consultant Michel Rolland (you heard him first here). What I like here is that is doles out the pepperiness, specifically green bell pepper, in spades but in sync with the red berry fruit. You can instantly discern that bedrock of Cabernet Franc. The palate is medium-bodied with ripe tannin, plenty of black and white pepper, a little graininess to the texture towards the Right Bank-like finish and with just the right amount of dryness to beckon you back for another sip. Enjoy this now, because there is approachability here and the tannins are not too hard, or enjoy over the next 10-12 years.
