2010 Chablis, Grand Cru, Bougros, ‘Cote Bouguerots’, Domaine William Fevre (12 x Bottle)

France Burgundy Chablis

The 2010 Chablis Bougros Cote Bouguerots is impeccable. It is one of the more open and radiant of the 2010s here, with great balance between the richness of the fruit, floral aromatics and minerality. The Cote Bouguerots is utterly vivid and compelling from the very first taste. Layers of fruit build to the huge, caressing finish. It is one of the stand outs, not just at Fevre but among all the 2010s I tasted. Anticipated maturity: 2014+.

96 Points / Drinking 2014 - 2014

Vinous

Pale greenish-yellow. Chalky, iodiney nose hints at wild herbs but is currently hiding its fruit. Large-scaled and round but quite taut, with strong lemon-limey acidity accentuating the wine’s impression of power. Most impressive today on the powerful, saline, chewy finish, which stains the palate with minerality. In a distinctly tightly wound, masculine style and in need of considerable aging. Today the wine’s fruit is in the deep background.

Vinous

Pale yellow-green. Very closed but pure nose is dominated by flinty, smoky minerality, with fruit in the deep background. Boasts lovely texture and sucrosite, with terrific cut to its juicy lemon and stone flavors. A bit less austere and closed than the Vaudesir but this is classic, mineral-driven, Kimmeridgian Chablis. Finishes with outstanding intensity and persistence.
