1988 North British 31 Year Old Carn Mor Celebration of the Cask, 49.6% ABV (70CL)
Super indie bottlers Càrn Mòr are back at it again with this superb grain whisky. Distilled in June 1988 by North British, this whisky spent 30 years ageing in a single sherry puncheon before bottling in January 2019. With only 285 bottles produced, this is a rare one to get your teeth stuck into.
Bottled at 49.6% ABV, it shows dried spice, orange peel, apricot and honey on the nose, developing into dusty spice, vanilla and a touch of chocolate on the palate. Rich and full, orange comes back to the fore on the finish, wrapped up in a blanket of cinnamon spice.
