New: Emeritus Vineyards

Emeritus Vineyards was founded in 1999 by legendary vintner Brice Cutrer Jones when he acquired Hallberg Ranch after selling his first winery, Sonoma-Cutrer. Drawn to property by the Goldridge soil and maritime influence, Brice recognised the potential of this uniquely-situated ranch to produce grand-cru-calibre Pinot Noir. And how right he was. Now, Hallberg Ranch is one of the premier vineyards in Sonoma County’s Russian River Valley, the fruit from which is often behind many of the more recognisable names of Sonoma Pinot Noir as other producers fight for an allocation of fruit from Brice’s vineyards. What makes the Emeritus wines so special lays in the unique vineyard practices. Since 2011, they have been farmed without supplemental irrigation–known as “dry farming,” a practice uncommon in California due to the lack of summer rainfall–which allows the individual nature of the vineyard to shine through.

We are pleased to bring the wines of Emeritus Vineyards to the UK.
