2021 was not a vintage to follow the usual recipe, and the best wines have been made by those who adapted their approach to the challenging conditions. As Omri Ram of Château Lafleur said, it was the “year of the vigneron”.

As a vintage that’s neither a clear Left or Right Bank year, the best examples across the board are elegant and balanced, with 12.5%-13.5% alcohol, and offer a clear point of difference to the vintages that immediately precede them.
