New: Alma de Cattleya

New and exclusive to Jeroboams, Alma de Cattleya is the passion project of Colombian winemaker Bibiana González Rave. Bibiana travelled the world learning her craft, including working at Bordeaux First Growth Haut-Brion, before settling in California with her husband Jeff Pisoni (himself an accomplished winemaker). The Alma de Cattleya wines speak firmly of their cool climate Sonoma origins, kept in check by Bibiana’s classical wine-making education but also allowed to flourish in the freedom California affords. In fact, it’s tempting to describe Bibiana’s wines as a little bit French and a little bit Californian. However, Bibiana insists it’s her Colombian heritage doing the talking:

“Intensity and passion are in my blood. Cattleya is the national flower of Columbia. Alma is the heart. I started this label a few years back. I wanted to make affordable wines. Working with fruit that produces a bit more volume per acre and showcasing larger AVAs.”
