Known as Five Fields during the Middle Ages, Belgravia was once a popular spot for duelling owing to its expanses of grassland and proximity to London. Developed by Richard Grosvenor during the 19th century with the help of Thomas Cubitt, nowadays its expansive streets are lined with white stucco houses with garden squares at their centres, and are home to many boutique shops and restaurants. Elizabeth Street is the commercial heart, where Jeroboams have resided for over 20 years, furnishing the local residents with fine wines and spirits. Just a stones throw from Victoria station, and close to Sloane Square and the King’s Road, it is ideally located for a casual afternoon spent shopping at Philip Treacy and Tomtom cigars, a spot of lunch at Oliviocarne before popping into Jeroboams to pick up a bottle on your way home.
