2023 11 Minutes Rose, IGT Trevenezie, Pasqua
Tasting note
The Corvina varietal, which dominates in terms of percentage, was chosen for the floral aromas as well as the significant acidity it gives to the wine. Trebbiano brings elegance and a long finish; Syrah gives fine fruit and spice notes to the glass and finally, Carménère creates structure, ensuring stability over time. This a fresh, enveloping rosé with an intense and complex bouquet, created to accompany spring or summer evenings and more.
Our thoughts
Founded by Puglians in Verona in 1925, the third generation of the Pasqua family now run this eponymous winery. While in more recent times, it has started producing small-batch, high-end wines from the Verona, Pasqua made its name as a producer of attractive and well-priced everyday wines, sourced from both its own vineyards in the Veneto, and selected growers as far afield as Abruzzo and Puglia. The grapes for this rosé – an idiosyncratic blend of 50% Corvina, 25% Trebbiano, 15% Syrah and 10% Carmenère – come from closer to home, around Lake Garda, with the 11 minutes of the name referring to the duration of the skin contact before the juice is direct pressed, fermented in stainless steel, and aged on the fine lees for three months.

The 2023 Rosé 11 Minutes, named for the specific duration of skin contact during pressing, is deeply perfumed and aromatically expressive. Bergamot, rosehip, lavender and blood orange hints are almost potpourri-like in the mouth. The 2023 is a heady and exotic wine that entices with its elegance and vibrancy, finishing with a long, spiced pineapple aftertaste. – Billy Norris
