Jeroboams Late Summer Tasting 2022
· Ellie Douglas Ellie Douglas onAt the start of September, it was our Late Summer Tasting, the highly anticipated return of our flagship tasting after three long years, and a special chance for our customers to explore and enjoy a vast number of wines from our range.
Throughout 2022 it’s been so enjoyable to host customers and producers together again, at our previous regional tastings on Bordeaux and Piedmont. With over 30 producers making the visit to London (despite it being harvest season for many!) to pour the wines themselves for this evening, it was even more momentous.
Held in the Tate Modern Gallery, there were spectacular riverside views of London to enjoy alongside the wines. Guests arrived to a sensational Champagne and sparkling wine selection, with some impressive names including Krug, Armand de Brignac, Dom Pérignon and Bollinger.
Following on to the still wines – one was spoiled for choice with where to begin! Classic regions, new discoveries, old favourites and latest vintages, from a total of 300 wines. Having the chance to speak directly to the winemaker in some cases, made it an even more memorable evening.
If you weren’t able to make it, or want to jog your memory of some excellent wines, our Group Buyer Maggie MacPherson picked out a few of her highlights of the tasting.
Many chose to finish the evening at the spirits table, sampling Mezcal from Los Siete Misterios and single malts from Glenfarclas, with some guests enjoying a Mezcal Negroni to round off the tasting.
A huge thank you to our producers for their wines and their presence, and of course, our lovely customers for attending. Until the next one!
