Next door to the Jeroboams shop on Pont Street sits an unassuming little mews called Cadogan Lane. Despite it’s ubiquity, these little cobbled streets might well have been painted yellow when Judy Garland took up residence at number 4 in the late 60s with her new husband Mickey Deans.
The star tragically passed away here on 22 June 1969, putting the street firmly on the nostalgia map. Fans still flock to feel the otherworldly aura of the star who once said, “I believe in the idea of the rainbow. And I’ve spent my entire life trying to get over it.” Rumours that her favourite, the Scarecrow, had a loft apartment next door proved unfounded.
